Jones Park on Victoria Drive Summer Festival

On July 22 2023, Zornitza Dance Ensemble had the opportunity to perform at the Victoria Drive Summer Festival at Jones Park in Vancouver. This is an annual event that recognizes the community’s multiculturalism and celebrates its vibrant and lively atmosphere through cultural performances, local business booths as well as plenty of games and prizes!

Zornitza Dance Ensemble proudly represented the Bulgarian community and culture with folk dances alongside dance groups “Kitka”, “Hubavitzi” and Hristo Popov’s Kuker dance. We were very honoured to be given this opportunity to share our traditions and folk dances with other cultures that also work to diversify our unique community.

On this beautiful sunny summer day, Zornitza Dance Ensemble also celebrated the group’s second birthday! July 21 2023, marked the second year since our ensemble’s debut and what better way to celebrate this wonderful occasion other than being surrounded by our friends, family and community doing the one thing that ties us all together- Bulgarian folk dancing! We enjoyed some snacks and treats as well as a delicious, Bulgarian folklore motives themed cake made from Dilyana Dimitrova, one of the group’s very own dancers!

A very special thank you to the Victoria Drive Business Improvement Association for hosting and inviting us to the Victoria Drive Summer Festival, and cheers to many more birthdays celebrated by our dance family, the Zornitza Dance Ensemble!
