ABOUT EVGENIA
Evgenia first joined our dance ensemble over a decade ago. She found the dance group in its earliest iteration when she first moved to Canada. The group was just starting out then, with four members and in an old church with no mirrors. The dance group and everyone that has joined over the years have always been a familiar place of joy because of the culture we share and love.
The ensemble is still growing in numbers, improving existing dances; the process of learning new bits of our folklore and sharing it is what makes this experience enjoyable for her as a dancer. She’s grown up with the dance group and watched them grow together as a collective, in a professional studio, with new folklore routines and more vibrant outfits.

ABOUT DANCINGShe’s always found the ensemble to be a source of creativity, even if not part of the group at that moment. She took up photography recently and has enjoyed capturing behind-the-scenes moments from the group events. She looks forward to learning new things about Bulgarian folklore and growing her passion, and sharing it with others through dance or other artistic outlets.
