ABOUT CHRISA
This is Chrysa-Marina. She was born in Greece and moved to Canada when she was just 1 year old. Growing up, she quickly adapted to speaking 3 languages at home - Bulgarian, Greek, and English. From the age of 11, she began studying French with the Late French Immersion program. She has won several art competitions, performed over a hundred times and can now speak 4 languages. She enjoys art, dance, and science, such as chemistry. In the following year when she graduates, she hopes to study sciences, but before that, her goal is to travel a part of the world and learn more about different cultures and languages around us. In her free time, she hangs out with her friends, goes on hikes, and swims. Being connected to nature is deeply special to her. She tries to be outside as much as possible. A reason as to why the summer is her favorite season.

ABOUT DANCINGChrysa started dancing over a decade ago at the age of 7. (Her lucky number, being born on 07/07/2007!). She believes that Bulgarian folk dance is a very great way to stay connected to her Balkanic roots. She enjoys and always looks forward to performing on stage, which makes her feel accomplished. Dancing brings her happiness. One of her favorite things about performing is wearing the traditional costumes. They hold a strong connection to the Bulgarian culture while also displaying beautiful patterns and bold colours. Being a Bulgarian-Greek immigrant, her cultural identity is really important to her and she will continue doing the things she loves to embrace it.
