Snezhana is the teacher, the choreographer, and the founder of the Bulgarian Dance Ensemble ZORNITZA. All of the ensemble's dancers either began their journey with Bulgarian dancing alongside Snezhana when she first thought at the Bulgarian school, or are brand new to Bulgarian dancing. All of the members quickly became a very strong team, helping each other and learning from one another. Snezhana is very proud of how all the ensemble's youth and young adults continue to cherish their Bulgarian roots and culture. .

Snezhana began Bulgarian dancing at the young age of 7 years old. She dedicated 3 days a week to Bulgarian folk dancing and she loved every part of it. She was the main solo dancer for many years. With her ensemble, she had numerous performances and competitions where they always won first place, as well as the hearts of the audience. These are the happiest memories from her childhood.

Here in Canada, she wanted to give children the same happiness she had as a child. She wanted to create moments they would remember forever. For them to experience the performative excitement, as well as the stage fright, and the beautiful costumes they would get to wear and feel unique and gorgeous in. She wanted them to experience the excitement in learning new dances, for them to get acquainted with their heritage and native culture, and to feel connected with the beautiful songs and to their community. But the most importantly, she wanted them to have fun and to be happy.

Snezhana loves Bulgarian folk dancing and she appreciates the opportunity to be able to teach and popularize the Bulgarian folklore internationally. She loves the creativity of it all. The ability to create and choreograph new dances makes her feel happy and fulfilled.

All the organization around the rehearsals, performances, travels, design of the costumes, and more are truly worth the effort and she is exited to see what the future holds for Zornitza. Her wish is that ZORNITZA Dance Ensemble makes a change for the better in the lives of those who experience its beauty.
